When you think about Park City, your mind likely conjures images of pristine ski runs, rosy cheeks, and a steaming cup of hot chocolate (or your beverage of choice!) by a crackling fire. But did you know that Park City is almost just as fun and exciting in the summer?
There’s a reason we say Park City is an all-season playground. There’s something for everyone, any time of year. Granted, springtime is usually a bit quiet in Park City. But once mud season starts to dry out and the temperatures starts to rise, there’s a renewed excitement about what the summer will bring!
We spoke with the team at CFH about the best things to do in Park City in the summer. Here’s what they said!
Explore the Area By Foot or Bike
With over 400 miles of maintained public trails, it will likely take you all summer to see them all. When the snow melts and the trails open, Dena loves going for hikes or bike rides. One of the best parts of living in Park City is just how easy these activities are. It’s completely normal to meet your neighbors on the trails before work for a quick walk, or as a quick way to get your steps in after dinner.
And if you’re looking for a longer adventure or a more challenging workout, there are a ton of options too!

Work on Your Swing
As a premier resort town, Park City and Deer Valley are home to some of the best golf courses in the country. Dena is also an avid golfer, enjoying the diverse range of public and private courses in the area.

Did We Mention Biking?
If skiing in Park City is ubiquitous for winter, we’d argue that mountain biking is on the same level for summer. As a Gold Level Ride Center, the mountain biking in Park City is on par with other world-renowned biking destinations.
Our own Jacquelyn is an avid mountain biker. Watch her earn her turns riding at 9,000 feet with this video right here.
Whether you love endurance riding, gravity riding, or e-biking, there’s something for every discipline and skill level.

Attend a Concert
It wouldn’t be summer in Park City without a summer concert series. With shows appealing to all musical tastes, there’s sure to be a Park City or Deer Valley summer concert for you. Some of the most notable annual events include:
These concerts are much loved, and if you attend, keep your eyes open for Cam, CFH’s resident music fan!
Support the Arts
Park City is well-known as a destination for the arts. Music, theatre, dance, film, paint—you’ll find an outlet for most creative mediums in Park City. It’s one of the reasons why our arts community is so strong and diverse!
Every summer in Park City, we have the Kimball Arts Festival. Main Street turns into an open-air art gallery and market where over 200 artists from around the world display their works. And if you’re looking for a more low-key outing, you can stroll around Main Street all season long to visit the numerous fantastic art galleries we are so lucky to have.

There’s No Shortage of Festivals
Maintaining a social calendar in Park City and Deer Valley in the summer is extraordinarily easy thanks to the abundance of events and festivals. We’ve already mentioned the concerts and iconic Kimball Arts Festival, but there’s so much more to do.
Here are just a few events we’re looking forward to:
- Fourth of July – Suzanne’s second-favorite holiday (after Christmas with the kids!), July 4th is a big deal. The day is packed with a pancake breakfast, an annual parade, outdoor activities, music, barbecues, and a fireworks/laser display to end the day!
- Savor the Summit – Suzanne, Dena, and Steve are all big fans of this annual event. Organized by the local restaurants, Savor the Summit transforms Main St. into a spectacular outdoor dining experience!
- Miners Day – Capping off the summer, Miners Day offers similar activities to the Fourth of July, but with a hyper-local spin. Celebrating the town’s mining heritage, there’s a parade, a Fun Run, and the annual ‘running of the balls.’
This post is all about what to do in Park City during the summer, but there are things to do in all seasons! Read this post next to find out what it’s like to live in Park City year-round.
Get on the Water
Jordanelle State Park is a must-visit if you’re spending any time in Park City or Deer Valley this summer. The park itself is located along the shores of the Jordanelle Reservoir and has three distinct recreational areas.
Suzanne loves spending time on the water and recommends everything from boating and fly fishing to water skiing!
