Tee Time! Swing into summer with golf in Park City

June 27th, 2022 | Park City Community

Skiing may be Park City’s calling card, but with 17 golf courses in and around the area, golf is a popular pastime for residents and visitors alike once the resorts close for the season. Join Chin|Fleming|Harris team members Jacquelyn Harris Grayson, Dena Fleming, Cameron Chin and Justin Fleming for a round at Park City Golf Club, an 18-hole gem nestled in the heart of town.

“One of the best kept secrets is at the end of ski season, typically you can catch a day where you can ski in the morning and play golf in the afternoon,” says CMFH senior partner Dena Fleming.

By today’s standards, the Park City GC may not be a very long golf course – the par-72 track plays 5,485 yards from the forward tees and 6,662 yards from the tips – but head professional Vaugh Robinson notes that “with its tree-lined fairways and tricky-to-read greens, it creates a great balance between long hitters and those that hit it straight.” Originally designed by Utah landscape architect William Neff in 1965, the layout offers minimal carries off the tee and opportunities to run the ball up onto the green if necessary, with six new forward tees available for golfers unveiled two seasons ago.

World-famous designers have created courses around the Park City area that offer a multitude of challenges, a few confidence boosters and price points for every pocketbook. Not to mention the added bonus of teeing it up in Park City: cooler temperatures, spectacular views and that extra 10-percent carry off the tee that’s sure to satisfy every golfer. Be sure to check out these other public courses around Park City:

The course measures a whopping 7,719 yards from the back tees, but for those looking for a little more tame track, try the open, parkland design of the Silver Course.
