With the July 4 holiday just around the corner, Park City’s resorts and action-sports parks are gearing up to give you adventures to remember all summer long. Park City, Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain, Canyons Golf, Utah Olympic Park and Woodward Park City have all established Covid-19 protocols and safety guidelines to not only keep everyone safe, but also maximize the fun as summer swings into high gear.

Please keep in mind, all resorts and sports parks are operating under strict adherence to the COVID-19 guidelines from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Utah Department of Health and the Summit County Health Department. That means face coverings are required while inside or queuing for publicly accessed indoor establishments. Please check with the respective resorts/parks for specific requirements before heading out.

Deer Valley Resort

If you’ve been craving Deer Valley’s signature cuisine or stunning scenic views, the wait is over! Deer Valley is open daily for summer operations with lift-served mountain biking, hiking and scenic chairlift rides, rentals, lessons, lodging operations and several outdoor dining options including Deer Valley Grocery Café (8 a.m.–3:30 p.m.), Royal Street Café (11:30 a.m.–3 p.m.) and the Silver Lake Snack Shack (11:30 a.m.–5 p.m.). But take note: All summer chairlift operations will begin at Snow Park only, and open lifts include Silver Lake Express, Sterling Express and Homestake Express. Chairlifts are open 10 a.m.–5 p.m. daily through Sept. 7; then, Saturdays and Sundays only through Sept. 20. The Main Street Signatures store is open as are resort meeting spaces and special occasions.

Know before you go: Parking is only available in the main lots at Snow Park base area this summer. There will be no parking in the Snow Park Loading Zone or Silver Lake Village area and no services at Silver Lake including lift ticket sales, rentals, lessons and the Signatures store. Face coverings are required while inside or queuing for publicly accessed indoor establishments. Guests unwilling to comply with this order will be asked to leave Deer Valley property. Contactless pay options and online purchases are encouraged, and cash transactions are strongly discouraged, though not prohibited. For guests dining at Deer Valley, tables will be limited to parties of six or less.

Park City Mountain

Satisfy your need for downhill action at Park City Mountain Resort this summer when base activities open this Thursday, July 2. Two chairlifts – Payday Express and Crescent Express – as well as the Alpine Slide and Mountain Coaster will operate Thursdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m.–8 p.m., and Sundays, 10 a.m.–7 p.m. (closed Monday-Wednesday). Enjoy lift-served mountain biking, scenic rides, hiking and outdoor dining options including “grab n go” fare from Jupiter Java (Thursday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; no cash accepted), or coordinate your visit with the Wednesday Farmer’s Market, located in the Silver King lot from noon–5 p.m. Additionally, Canyons Golf is now open daily and features an 18-hole, par-70 layout with more than 550 feet of elevation changes that provide brilliant backdrops, perfect for your vacation selfie.

Know before you go: Canyons Village will not be operating lifts or additional activities for the Summer 2020 season. However, several dining options are open including Drafts Burger Bar, Edge Steakhouse, Escala Provisions Company (Hyatt Centric) and Powder (Waldorf Astoria). Please check with establishments for hours of operations as well as for updates on summer hours for The Viking Yurt. Guests must wear face coverings while in line, in common areas, in indoor resort facilities, on activities such as the mountain coaster, and when loading and unloading lifts. Guests unwilling to comply with this safety requirement will not be permitted to participate. Rental clubs at Canyons Golf are suspended until further notice.

Utah Olympic Park

Literally leap into action this summer at the UOP on any of the park’s adrenaline-pumping experiences including extreme tubing, Freestyle or Extreme ziplines, alpine slide, airbag jumps, Discovery ropes course and the more challenging Summit and Canyon ropes courses. Choose either a Jumpside Pass ($50) or a Trackside Pass ($45, starting July 4) and enjoy two hours of unlimited sessions on the activities near each location. These two-hour sessions are offered daily at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Additionally, enjoy free admission to the interactive Alf Engen Ski Museum and Eccles Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum, which are open daily from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Be sure to look for athletes training and perfecting their aerial tricks on the ramps at the pool!

Know before you go: The UOP has limited parking and reduced entrances, and asks that visitors please follow all directional signage provided on site. Face coverings are required for all indoor spaces and in all queue lines around the park including lines for the chairlift, ticketing station or activity.
