While we all love an epic powder day, nothing quite matches the smiles and satisfaction that comes from a day of spring skiing beneath bluebird skies at Park City Mountain. From the cruisers that let us feel like we’re flying, to the “hero” bumps that make us all believe we, too, could be moguls racers, to the miles and miles of breathtaking views, a sunny ski tour around our favorite backyard resort is the ticket to taking advantage of the waning weeks of ski season.
Just in time for the official start of Spring, Chin|Fleming|Harris team member Cameron Chin takes us on a personal tour of his home mountain. “I spent a lot of days in ski boots, a lot of days on snow,” explains Chin, who grew up ski racing in Park City and has 14 years’ of coaching experience. “Now I get to ski for fun, which is great. … To share Park City and my knowledge of it with my clients – my perspective of it – (was something I wanted to do.)
“Everybody who lives here probably has a different perspective of town and what they utilize, but I probably have more of a unique experience (from) growing up here that I can share. I think that’s super helpful in real estate and talking to people about why they should live here and move here and purchase here.”
Thanks to Chin’s expertise, his Tour-de-PCMR takes us on a journey up to Park City’s crown jewel – Jupiter Peak, which reaches a sky-high elevation of 10,026 feet. Starting at the main base area, the adventure to the top starts with a ride up the Eagle chairlift and a wide-open groomer down Temptation ski run to the King Con Express chair. From there, Chin takes in the scene mid-mountain at Miners Camp, cruising down the face of King Con and making his way up to McConkey’s Express, where he clicks out of his skis for the hike to the peak. Panoramic views are the reward, stretching 360 degrees and glimpsing Guardsman Pass, Deer Valley Resort, Heber Valley, Mount Timpanogos, Millcreek Canyon and beyond.
“It’s just a great experience,” says Chin. “Just to be out here on a bluebird, sunny day and get to ski with people that you’re trying to help and guide is an awesome perk of the job.”
