Here at CMFH, we believe that buying a home in Park City is less about buying property, and more about buying a lifestyle.
It’s no secret that Park City is home to world-class amenities that range from exceptional outdoor recreation, stellar dining opportunities, fantastic shopping, and exciting community events all set on the backdrop of some of the most beautiful mountain ranges you’ve ever seen.
With so much to do, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the options available. We all have the same 24 hours in a day, but how you spend those hours is the real question.
In this post, we’re sharing our advice for how to spend the perfect day in Park City, from morning to night, here’s how to make the most out of your time here.
Plan to Rise Early
Park City is a veritable mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. You know, the type of up-and-at-em people who get up early to maximize their days. If you’re thinking about spending any time on the slopes or enjoying any other active amenities, we recommend getting up early to get a head start.
Peak season can get busy, so it’s essential to plan ahead, know where you are going and have a good grasp on the parking and transit situation. Rising early means beating the crowd, enjoying fresh tracks, and being first in line at your favorite coffee shop or cafe.

Grab a Coffee and a Pastry
We don’t recommend skiing on an empty stomach, so depending on your preferred ski spot, you should absolutely treat yourself to a coffee and a pastry before heading up the slopes. Our team has a variety of go-to cafes, but some of our favorites include:
- Atticus Coffee & Teahouse on Main Street
- The cafe at Goldener Hirsch in Deer Valley
- Snow Park Lodge in Deer Valley (Try the ham and cheese croissant!)
- Wasatch Bagel and Grill (Some nice fuel for the day ahead!)

Hit the Slopes
Depending on your skill level and also the amount of time you wish to spend skiing, there’s an abundance of run options. We spoke with the team here at CMFH to get an idea of their favorite runs and ski spots. Here’s what they told us:
- If you’re looking for a two-ish-hour excursion, Jacqueline loves taking the bus or parking on Park Avenue. From there, you can take the Town Lift up the mountain. As one of the longer lifts in the area, you can enjoy a slow and steady ride, which takes you to the bottom of the Bonanza Express Lift. From there, you can ski back down to Old Town on some lovely beginner-friendly trails.
- Judy recommends the Mid-Mountain and Silver Lake area for skiing. Arriving early is key here to miss the crowds. After 10:30 the slopes get increasingly busy!
- When Justin isn’t working, he prefers hitting Park City Mountain Resort with the family. This area allows snowboarding, which is restricted in Deer Valley. If you’re looking for easier slopes or a variety of activities, Woodward is the place to go. An indoor action sports hub and outdoor progression parks make it the perfect place to learn new tricks and get a (safe) adrenaline rush.
- Dena is a proud member of the ‘Crack of Noon Club’ but when planning a ski day, she likes to get up early and head over to Deer Valley. Park your car at The Chateaux and enjoy a couple hours of skiing before hitting the lodge for lunch.
- Suzanne is proponent of arriving early to get the fresh tracks, and will spend her day at Deer Valley.
- Cameron recommends getting to Deer Valley around 8 am to beat the crowds, park at Lot 1, or head over to The Mayflower Lift, this area is a bit of a sleeper spot and can be less busy.

Whether you’re craving something light and quick, or you prefer a more decadent treat, there’s something here for everyone. Some of our favorite spots for lunch include:

How to Spend a Perfect Afternoon in Park City
At this point in the day, you’re probably feeling one of two ways: You’re energized and ready to experience more, or your batteries need a quick recharge.
If you’re the latter type of person, now is the perfect time to head home for a quick homemade snack and nap. But if you’re in the energized camp, here are some of the ways our team likes to spend the afternoon in Park City and Deer Valley:
- Judy likes to run down to Main Street for a bite to eat, you can also stroll the streets, window shop, and check out the sights and sounds. Most shops on Main Street close around 6 pm, making this prime time to get your shopping fix.
- Scott may opt for a nap, but as our resident art-lover, he is also happy to check out the art galleries on Main Street, the perfect source for inspiration.
- If you’re looking for a high-end experience, Suzanne recommends treating yourself at the St. Regis Spa or heading to OC Tanner on Main Street for some retail therapy–one can never have enough jewelry!
- Cameron takes advantage of the fact that many skiers don’t come back out after lunch. The hills are often quieter, perfect for getting in more runs!
