How to Find the Best Neighborhood in Park City for You
If you’re planning on relocating to Park City permanently, your needs and wants will likely be vastly different than someone who is searching for a second home or a vacation property.
It’s important to consider all of the needs, interests, and desires of each person in the home. Consider the following:
- Proximity to schools – If you have a school-aged child in your household, you will likely need to consider your next home’s proximity to schools. Also, it’s important to know that in Park City there are no exceptions when it comes to attending a school outside of your school district, so if you have a specific district in mind, you’ll need to find a home within it.
- Proximity to recreation – Consider your hobbies. If you’re thinking about moving to Park City permanently, chances are, you likely have an affinity for the outdoors. Consider neighorhoods close to trailheads or areas with easy access to the slopes if those types of activities are important to you and your family.
- Desire for open space or walkability – Like most cities, Park City has a variety of property types. From sprawling estates with plenty of acreage to stylish condos and townhouses, there are plenty of options. If you crave privacy and don’t mind hopping in the car to grab groceries, you might be better off with a larger home on a bigger plot of land.
- Proximity to hospitals and medical facilities – For residents young and elderly, access to healthcare is important. Choosing a neighborhood with proximity to a healthcare facility is a good idea for anyone, but especially for older residents and those with young children.
- Amenities – Park City is famous for the wondrous nature surrounding. But it’s not always feasible to head out on the trails every single day. Community-based amenities add richness and convenience to our lives. Look for neighborhoods with parks, green spaces, fields, playgrounds, community centers, libraries, coffee shops, and more.

A Closer Look at Some Classic Park City Communities
As a team of Park City locals, we might be a little biased when it comes to listing off great neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has its own distinct feel and we love them all for different reasons.
In fact, you’d be hard-pressed to find a ‘bad’ neighborhood in Park City at all. However, when it comes to classic Park City neighborhoods for permanent residents, here are two that show the diversity of choices you have when making your selection:
Park Meadows
Some might consider Park Meadows to be the original Park City neighborhood. This mature community features lush landscaping, proximity to Park City schools, and is conveniently located near Old Town. The neighborhood is known for being a close-knit community plentiful with trail heads and access to a massive trail network for hiking and biking. The area is also home to the Park Meadows Country Club and the Park City Municipal Athletic Recreation Center (also known as The MARC), which hosts swimming, pickleball, tennis, workout facilities, and more!

Silver Creek
If you’re seeking privacy in a rural setting, Silver Creek might be perfect for you. This lovely community is as far from downtown as you can get while still being in Park City. Close to Kimball Junction for your shopping and dining needs, and still part of the PC School District, Silver Creek features large homesites including many horse properties and homes that feature fantastic views of all three big resorts. With its dirt roads and uniquely rural ambiance, Silver Creek isn’t right for everyone, but the people who live her truly love it.
