Come together from January 18 to 28 to commemorate the 40th edition of the Sundance Film Festival, celebrating the spirit of independent storytelling, whether in person or online.
The Sundance Film Festival stands as the quintessential gathering of visionary storytellers and avid audiences yearning for innovative narratives and unique viewpoints. Their yearly lineup comprises a wide array of dramatic and documentary features, short films, and episodic content. “Additionally, we curate daily filmmaker discussions, panel talks, and various engaging events. Since its inception in 1985, countless films premiered at the Festival have garnered critical acclaim and expanded their reach to captivate audiences worldwide.”

Online Experience
This year, there will be 91 feature films and numerous shorts all available to you with a ticket or pass for on-demand access. In a non-hybrid format, an attendee might be able to squeeze in two movies in one day if they’re feeling ambitious, but in this new format, you could see many more.
In-Person Experience
Each screening will have a limited number of slots available. In-person and online ticket packages and passes are on sale now. Tickets for individual screenings will go on sale January 11.
This year, in-person attendees will also get to enjoy a transformed Park City Main Street which will include numerous corporate-sponsored spaces, including the Acura House of Energy and a Hulu-sponsored food truck.

The 2024 Sundance Film Festival comes with a series of parking changes and closures that residents and festival-goers need to be aware of. Whether you’re a local or visiting the festival, here’s what you need to know about parking in Park City during this bustling event.
Free Parking Options: To make your festival experience more convenient, consider these free parking options:
- The Richardson Flat Park-and-Ride located on Highway 248 is recommended for free parking.
- Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain Village offer free parking after the ski day ends, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. daily during the festival. Daytime parking for festival attendees is not available at these locations.
- The Sandridge Lots off Marsac Avenue continue to provide all-day free parking.
Flat Rate All-Day Parking: Park City will implement flat rate, all-day parking fees during the festival. Here are the rates:
- Thursday, Jan. 18: $40
- Friday, Jan. 19 and Saturday, Jan. 20: $50
- Sunday, Jan. 21 to Tuesday, Jan. 22: $30 (a $10 reduction compared to the 2023 festival)
- Jan. 24 to Jan. 28: Return to standard parking rates, ranging from $1 to $5 per hour based on your parking location. These post-first weekend rates are lower than in previous years.
Guaranteed Parking Permits: For those seeking a hassle-free parking solution, guaranteed parking permits for China Bridge’s lower level are available for $550. These permits grant unlimited entry and exit. To apply for one, fill out the application provided.
Parking Closures: Keep in mind the following parking closures before, during, and after the festival:
- Jan. 6 – 27: Bob Wells Plaza
- Jan. 16 – 23: West Side of Main Street
- Jan. 17: Park Avenue from Heber to 9th Street
- Jan. 17 – 28: Partial closure of the North Marsack Parking Lot
- Jan. 18 – 23: Full closures of Main Street, Heber Avenue, Swede Alley Surface Parking, Brew Pub Parking Lot (spaces available for ADA), West Side of Park Avenue (resident parking only), Flagpole Lot (Employee Permit only), and the Galleria Lot (ADA parking only).
