Park City’s Cool Summer Camps

June 4th, 2018 | Park City Community

Finally, the kids are out of school! Now what? Park City parents are perhaps the luckiest in the world because they live in a town that offers some of the coolest summer camps anywhere. Whether you’re looking for a full-day childcare solution, or just a day when kids can get out of the house and have some fun, we have some great ideas for you.

Park City Mountain Adventure Camps
Park City Mountain offers flexible, full and half-day programs for kids. The Adventure Zone has fun and exciting summer activities such as the Legacy Launcher’s four trampolines, bouldering, climbing wall, gem panning, kids rope courses, and kid’s zip line. Your youngins can zoom down the Alpine Coaster, descend one of the world’s longest Alpine Slides, or soar 110 feet in the air, and more this summer.

Deer Valley Adventure Camps
Deer Valley’s Summer Adventure Camp is based out of the Children’s Center at Snow Park Lodge. Surrounded by incredible mountains with hiking trails, hillside playgrounds, and duck ponds, the center has built-in alcoves for entertainment and performances, mini- bouldering, climbing wall, and a full supply of craft projects, games, puzzles, videos and books to complement the outdoor activities. Counselor ratios for infants are one to three; for toddlers, one to four; and, for older children, one for a group of five to eight.

Utah Olympic Park
Make your kids “Olympians For A Day” at the Utah Olympic Park. For ages 7 and up, the Park offers daily or multi-day introductory lessons in everything from Nordic ski jumping to freestyle aerials. Older kids – ages 14-16 – can sign up for a session of bobsled or skeleton clinics. Programs run daily from early June – August.

Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter
This 1200-acre nature preserve is located in the heart of Kimball Junction. Swaner Preserve is a refuge for wildlife and the place to go to connect with Park City’s local, natural landscape. Day campers from first to eighth grade can spend the day collecting tadpoles, frogs, and insects, or exploring our watershed by following lakes, streams and headwaters. Three to five-day sessions are available throughout the summer.

The MARC
Park City Municipal Athletic and Recreation Center (MARC)offers endless summer recreation for youth ages 6 and up. All-day adventure camps include sports, games, arts & crafts, field trips and more! Don’t forget to add the optional tennis, skateboard, swim, golf, or archery lessons to make your child’s summer constructive, as well as memorable.

Basin Rec
Basin Recreation’s summer camp offerings are so vast we can’t list them all here. One of the most popular is their all-day camp, Summer Blast.Camp participants get to choose the activities they want to participate in including sports, arts & crafts, relays, table games, and contests. Every afternoon, campers can jump in the pool to improve their water skills.

Park City Sailing Association
The Jordanelle Reservoiroffers Parkites access to all varieties of summer water sports. The Park City Sailing Association offers one-week camp sessions with beginner classes for children ages 5-12, and teens ages 13-18.

We at Chin-Fleming-Harris think Park City is the best place in the world to raise a family, in part because of the wide variety of activities and clubs that are available to all the children of our community. Keep you kids happy, busy, and learning to love the great outdoors this summer. It will be just one of the reasons they thank you once they’re grown and still living an active lifestyle.
